CLEEN Trains and Inaugurates 40 Peace Monitors in Zamfara

In a key milestone, CLEEN Foundation trained and inaugurated 40 Community Peace Monitors (CPM) in Gusau, Zamfara State. The event brought together traditional leaders, women and youth groups, civil society actors, and security agencies. Under the theme “Empowering Grassroots and Governance Structures for Enhanced Community Security,” the CPMs were equipped with tools for conflict resolution, early warning, peace-building, and security collaboration.

The monitors, nominated by community leaders and security institutions, are now positioned to serve as frontline actors for peace. They will establish Community Accountability Forums that bring citizens and security personnel together to address local safety issues.

Zamfara State government officials and security agencies present at the event pledged continued support and affirmed their commitment to working closely with the CPMs.
