Strengthening Weapons & Ammunition Management with Technical Working Group

CLEEN Foundation convened a two-day meeting with the Technical Working Group (TWG) in Maiduguri to operationalise the Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) on Weapons and Ammunition Management (WAM) in Borno State.

The meeting focused on adapting the SoPs to local realities and outlining a practical roadmap for implementation. Participants discussed existing challenges, proposed adjustments, and set state-level priorities for more effective arms control.

The group also developed sustainability measures, identified risks, and agreed on roles for institutional and community actors. A communications plan and monitoring framework were also introduced to support follow-through.

CLEEN Foundation also visited the UNDP office in Borno to share project updates. The UNDP team commended the technical quality of CLEEN’s work and reaffirmed its support for continued collaboration.
