Building Resilient Communities: CLEEN Pushes Peace and Security Collaboration in Zamfara

CLEEN Foundation, together with Community Peace Monitors, carried out courtesy visits to key security and traditional institutions in Bugudu and Gusau. Institutions engaged included the Nigerian Army, the Police Force, NSCDC, the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, as well as the Bungudu and Gusau Emirates in Zamfara state.

The visits created space to strengthen collaboration, improve communication, and encourage better coordination in fragile communities. They also provided an opportunity to appreciate the ongoing support from partners and stakeholders working to build peace and stability in Zamfara State.

During the engagements, the team shared a jointly produced policy brief titled Building Resilient and Inclusive Local Peace and Security Structures: The Untapped Potentials in Zamfara. The document captures success stories, identifies key challenges, and presents recommendations for government, security agencies, and traditional leaders on strengthening local peace and security structures.
