CLEEN Foundation Visits Solicitor-General to Deepen Collaboration with Ministry of Justice

 

CLEEN Foundation team, led by Acting Executive Director Peter Maduoma, paid a courtesy visit to the Solicitor-General of the Federation, Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba. Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Leticia Ayoola-Daniels, Director of Administration of Criminal Justice and Reform, along with senior officials from the ACJRD. During the visit, CLEEN Foundation emphasized the importance of adopting innovative approaches to tackle issues such as ACJA, human rights, and judicial transparency. By working closely with the Ministry of Justice, the foundation aims to contribute to reforms that ensure swift and fair administration of criminal justice regime. This collaboration is also anticipated to enhance training programs for judges, promote the use of technology in legal processes, and improve mechanisms for citizen feedback and accountability.

Discussions centred on advancing reforms under the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, addressing persistent gaps in implementation across states, and exploring ways to strengthen oversight, non-custodial measures, and case management systems.

CLEEN Foundation also shared key milestones, including its Civil Society Observatory, monitoring frameworks, and ongoing projects supported by the Norwegian Government. The meeting provided an important platform to deepen collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and build stronger pathways for justice sector reform in Nigeria.
