CLEEN Foundation Hosts Finnish Immigration Service Delegation in Lagos
We were delighted to host a delegation from the Finnish Immigration Service at our Lagos office for a fact-finding mission on our Serious and Organized Crime (SOC) project. The primary aim of the visit was to exchange insights and strategies on managing immigration effectively while ensuring human rights and security. The Finnish delegation, known for their progressive approaches in immigration, engaged with CLEEN Foundation’s experts to discuss best practices and explore areas of collaboration.
During the visit, several key topics were addressed. These included the challenges and opportunities in immigration management, the integration of technology in processing and security, and the importance of community engagement in immigration-related issues. Both parties shared experiences and success stories, emphasizing the importance of policy that balances national security with the need for humane treatment of migrants.
Led by Mr. Mikko Nyman, Head of the Country-of-Origin Information Unit, the delegation discussed key learnings and shared insights on addressing organized crime. The meeting opened doors for continued collaboration and mutual learning between both institutions, strengthening the fight against transnational crime.
