Gad Peter

Gad Peter is an accomplished Development worker, Peace Practitioner, Human Rights and Gender Activist, and Civil Society Organization expert. With over 15 years of experience, he is well-versed in advocacy and effective engagement of government and policymakers to promote accountability, gender mainstreaming, and inclusiveness for positive changes in practices and policies.

Gad is a great mobilizer of both human and material resources, a Certified Chartered Mediator, Trainer, Public Speaker, Strategist, and Leadership Expert. He has several publications, papers, and presentations to his credit.

As a professional development activist, Gad has core experience in peacebuilding, community mobilization and development, human rights, gender integration, youth engagement, budget tracking and monitoring, stakeholder analysis, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, political and economic analysis. He understands the conflict dynamics of a setting and its implications for programming. Gad has credentials in gender advocacy and reproductive health, education, democracy, and good governance.

Gad has worked with several local and international NGOs, including the British Council, Creative Associates International, and Equal Access International. He is efficient in program management and team building with experience working in conflict-prone areas and the Lake Chad Basin-Chad, Niger, Cameroon, and Nigeria.

He has been a member of several committees set up by the government at various levels and is currently a member of the Plateau State Open Governance Partnership and the University of Jos Teaching Hospital Ethical Committee Member.

As an advocate of social change, Gad has led and supported several organizations and coalitions to sponsor pro-development bills that are functional laws in Plateau state and the country today.

Gad is currently a PhD student with the University of Jos and is a mentor to several youths. He is an advocate of good governance, social justice, and a Member Board of trustees of several organizations. Additionally, he is a Charter mediator.
