The Nigeria 2015 General Elections initially scheduled to hold on 14th and 28th February were on Saturday 7th February 2015 rescheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The elections will now hold on 28th March (Presidential and National Assembly) and on April 11 (Gubernatorial and State Assembly). In announcing the re-schedule, INEC cited insecurity and the consequent renewed offensive against the Boko Haram by security services.
