Documentary Screening on Human Trafficking and Forced Migration for teenagers and Young Adults

Following the documentary screening organized by CLEEN Foundation to commemorate the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on 30th of July, the Foundation with support from the UN Women and the Government of Italy organized on 13th August 2021

a special edition for teenagers and young adults which screened episode 1 & 3 (Causes of Human Trafficking and The Role of Enablers and social media in Enhancing Forced Migration and Human Trafficking in Nigeria) of the documentary series produced by CLEEN. The screening of the special edition is borne out of the consideration that teenagers and young adults are most susceptible to trafficking and in need of urgent sensitization and enlightenment

The 1 & 3 Episodes 1 on the causes of human trafficking and episode 3 on the role of enablers and social media in enhancing forced migration and human trafficking in Nigeria shed light on the primary reasons why people are trafficked, such as poverty, greed, unemployment, family pressure, perceived opportunity, high demand for illicit sex, high rate of dollar over the naira, etc and the role of traffickers, the avenues used and the tactics employed to manipulate persons to being trafficked.

The documentary screening had over one hundred and eighty (180) participants made up of male and female teenagers and young adults.
