Training for Prevent Partners in Lagos and Bayelsa States
In the month of October, CLEEN Foundation had a couple of activities under the Prevent Serious organized crime (SOC) project in Lagos and Bayelsa states. The first intervention was held for officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) from the “Area G” police command and the PCRC chapter in Lagos State on October 11, 2023. The objective of the training was to equip the officers with the knowledge of PREVENT as a community policing strategy to reduce serious organized crime in Nigeria.
Another intervention under the same project umbrella was the 2-day “Crime Prevention Steering Group” (CPSG) training which took place in Bayelsa State on the 20th of October, 2023.
The CPSG committee plays a crucial role in oversighting the Crime Prevention Partners and coordinating crime prevention efforts hence the need to enhance their capacities to effectively carry out these obligations.
These interventions fall under the Prevent Serious and Organized Crime (SOC) Project funded by the UK government and implemented by the Torchlight Group UK.
