The Nigeria Police Force in Adamawa State recently held a training session aimed at enhancing the knowledge of their personnel regarding weapon and ammunition management. The training targeted Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Heads of Departments (HODs), and Officers in charge, Adamawa State. It focused on Weapons and Ammunition Management and Control. It is safe to say the impact of this capacity-building initiative is already being felt within the Nigeria Police Force. In a commendable show of leadership and commitment to excellence, key participants of the workshop have proactively cascaded the knowledge and strategies gained to critical personnel across the Adamawa State Police Command, ensuring that the principles of responsible weapon handling, inventory control, and accountability are deeply integrated into daily operations.
The internal session was facilitated by CSP Ali Obed Masoyi, DPO of Doubeli Police Division, & ASP Idris Ahmad Wadata, Secretary to the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State. Both facilitators played instrumental roles in breaking down technical components of weapons management and tailoring them to real-world policing contexts in the state. This initiative not only strengthens institutional knowledge but also supports national & global efforts to improve arms control and prevent the misuse or diversion of security assets. It reflects a culture of continuous learning, accountability, & professionalism within the force.
