CLEEN and State Working Groups Engage Imo CP on Police Accountability

In Imo State, CLEEN Foundation’s Owerri team, alongside members of the WPS and ACJL State Working Groups, paid a visit to the Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Garba Bosso. The meeting created space for open discussion on policing and public safety, especially in light of concerns around the “Tiger Base” Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

The Commissioner addressed these concerns directly, outlining steps taken to strengthen oversight and improve accountability within the Command. He also acknowledged the importance of rebuilding trust and maintaining transparency in police operations.

Importantly, he expressed willingness to work closely with civil society and directed the Police Public Relations Officer to revive the quarterly police and CSO engagement forum to ensure continuity in dialogue
