CLEEN Foundation Launches Community Peace Monitors and Radio programme to Boost Grassroots Security in Zamfara, Visits the Commissioner of Police

What could be better than a deep dive into issues that MATTER?

CLEEN Foundation launched the Community Peace Monitors (CPM) initiative in Zamfara State to strengthen grassroots peace and civil-military collaboration. The launch was marked by a live programme on Vision FM 92.7 Gusau to introduce the CPM concept and engage the public on its purpose. The radio broadcast generated strong listener engagement, with residents calling in to ask about the monitors’ roles and how they could participate. This reflects growing public interest in homegrown approaches to security and peacebuilding.

Following the broadcast, the CLEEN team met with Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba at the Zamfara Police Command. During the visit, updates on the upcoming CPM deployment and the ongoing radio campaign supporting community dialogue on safety were shared with the Commissioner of Police.

The Commissioner expressed support for the initiative and welcomed its collaborative approach to promoting peace and accountability in the state.
