CLEEN Foundation Mourns the Loss of Simeon Sunday, Media and Communications Officer.
Simeon Sunday spent his career at CLEEN Foundation capturing the stories of others documenting human rights advocacy, filming community engagements, and giving voice to the voiceless through his lens, graphics and medium. Today, in a cruel reversal, we find ourselves telling his story. CLEEN Foundation announces with profound sorrow the passing of our Media and Communications Officer, Simeon Sunday. Simeon passed away today, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, due to complications from a fatal Accident.
Simeon was a vibrant and integral part of the CLEEN family. Since joining the organization, he distinguished himself through his unwavering commitment to the Foundation’s mission of promoting public safety, security, and accessible justice. As the voice of our communications department, Simeon was more than just a professional; he was a master storyteller who breathed life into our data-driven reports and advocacy campaigns turning complex security policy into public understanding. He was renowned for his ability to translate intricate data into compelling narratives that championed human rights, transparency, and accountability.
Beyond his professional expertise, those who worked closely with Simeon will remember him for his infectious energy and remarkable wit. He possessed a unique ability to find light in the most challenging situations, often diffusing high-pressure moments with a well-timed joke or a reassuring smile. Simeon was a man of deep empathy, known for his open-door spirit and his genuine interest in the growth of every team member he worked with.
CLEEN Foundation family, along with the Board of Trustees and staff, extends our deepest condolences to the family he left behind, his friends, and the journalism community. We share in your immense loss and pray for the strength to bear this painful departure.
Funeral arrangements will be shared in consultation with the family in due course.
