TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR JUDICIAL PANEL MEMBERS
The panel is to investigate, evaluate the validity of information garnered, and make recommendations for compensation to victims as the terms of reference given by the Governor
The terms of reference also include “to receive and investigate complaints of police brutality and or related extra-judicial killing in Bayelsa State; evaluate evidence, draw conclusions and make findings on the validity of the complaints; and to recommend compensation and other remedial measures.

DATE OF INAUGURATION
Bayelsa State Judicial panel was inaugurated by Governor Douye Diri on the 28th of October, 2020

HOW TO FILE PETITION
Invites have, therefore, been sent out by the committees for victims of police brutality and abuses to submit their petitions for sitting to commence
all petitions should be submitted to the Ministry of Justice at the state secretariat complex, Yenagoa, the state capital city
All petitions should be submitted in eight copies to the secretary, Mr Alaowei Opokuma at Ministry of Justice, 2nd floor, State Secretariat Complex, Ovom, Yenagoa
