Gabriel Akinremi,PhD is a seasoned Information Technology and Digital Transformation professional with extensive experience in information systems management, cybersecurity, data analytics, digital communications, and project implementation. As the Senior Information Technology Officer at CLEEN Foundation, he oversees the organization’s ICT infrastructure and digital communication systems, ensuring the effective management of both internal and external technology operations. He is widely recognized for his expertise in information management, digital content development, social media strategy, data analysis, web development, and technology-driven research systems.
Gabriel possesses a strong multidisciplinary background that combines Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Project Management, and Digital Innovation. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Nasarawa State University, a Master’s degree in Information Technology from University of Lagos, completed an MSc in Cyber Security at Nigerian Defence Academy, and earned a PhD from University of America. He also holds Professional Postgraduate Diplomas in Project Management and Human Resource Management.
In addition to his academic qualifications, Gabriel has earned several globally recognized professional certifications in cloud computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, project management, networking, and digital transformation. His certifications include Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) from Pearson, Microsoft Business Analyst certification from Microsoft, CompTIA Security+ ce, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Cisco CCNA certifications, Certified Cybersecurity Educator Professional, ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Associate, and multiple certifications from Google in AI, Data Analytics, IT Support, Agile Project Management, and Project Management Specialization. He has also completed specialized certifications in API Security, AI Ethics, Internet Governance, Privacy, Digital Footprints, and Cyber Threat Management through organizations such as Cisco, Amazon Web Services, Internet Society, APIsec University, and Center for AI and Digital Policy.
He is an active member and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Nigeria Computer Society, British Computer Society, Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria, and the Institute of Information Management. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management and the Chartered Institute of Project Management, Ghana.
With over 15 years of professional experience, Gabriel has worked extensively in teaching, training, software and hardware systems development, cybersecurity, networking, database management, digital media production, and website design. He currently serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at Iconic Open University, where he teaches Cloud Computing and Big Data Analytics, and also as an Adjunct Lecturer at American Open University Global. His practical and academic experience has enabled him to contribute significantly to governance, justice reform, election security, anti-corruption initiatives, early warning systems, civil-military relations, and countering violent extremism projects across Nigeria.
At CLEEN Foundation, he collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and development partners to implement impactful projects focused on accountable governance, justice and security reforms, election security management, anti-corruption advocacy, criminal justice reform, and digital innovation for social impact.
