International Women’s Day is a reminder to amplify their stories, struggles, and triumphs in a world where women’s voices are often silenced. Let’s paint the world orange with their courage and resilience.
As the world celebrates International Women’s Day 2024 under the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” Accelerating Investment in Women to promote public safety and security is the cornerstone of peacebuilding. CLEEN Foundation proudly joins the global community in recognising the invaluable contributions of women and advocating for more significant investments in gender equality and women’s empowerment. In commemorating this important day, we reflect on the progress made towards advancing women’s rights and achieving gender parity while acknowledging the persistent challenges and barriers that hinder women’s full participation and potential.
CLEEN Foundation joins the global community in celebrating the achievements and contributions of women around the world. Women play a crucial role in all aspects of society, yet they face numerous challenges and barriers that limit their full potential. We must prioritise investments in women’s education, health, economic opportunities, and political participation to ensure they can fully contribute to building a more just and equitable world. Investing in women is not just a moral imperative but a strategic imperative for sustainable development, social justice, and economic prosperity. When women are empowered, economies thrive, communities prosper, and societies flourish.
As we mark International Women’s Day 2024, CLEEN Foundation calls on governments, policymakers, civil society organisations, private sector actors, and individuals to:
- Increase investments in programs and initiatives that promote gender equality and women’s empowerment to accelerate public safety and security and women’s rights.
- Implement and enforce laws and policies that protect and promote women’s rights and address gender-based discrimination and violence.
- Foster partnerships and collaboration across sectors to mobilise resources, share knowledge, and scale up efforts to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.
