On 20^th August 2021, the CLEEN Consortium engaged by the Federal Government to effectively monitor the utilization of the forfeited assets visited the ongoing 2^nd River Niger Bridge construction by the Julius Berger Construction Company. The mission of the consortium to the site was to get physical and documented evidences on the progress of work done on the 2^nd Niger Bridge by the Julius Berger team. 

Based on the assessment of the 2^nd River Niger Bridge, the CLEEN consortium recorded progress of work on the site after reviewing and comparing records from the previous scheduled site visitation in June and the daily unscheduled visitation reports that trickle in from CLEEN stationary observers.

On engagement with the host communities of this project, the CLEEN team were informed of an existing memorandum of understanding with ten communities comprising of five each from Delta and Anambra states respectively which has contributed to reduced tension and improved pace of work.  The CLEEN team embarked on verification of the three sections of the project, Asaba axis, Onitsha and Owerri interchange to observe the progress of works.
