CLEEN Foundation Bags Excellence Award in Promoting Public Safety Security from Crime Reporters Association in Nigeria (CRAN)

The CLEEN Foundation on the 25th of November 2021 bagged an award of excellence in “Promoting Public Safety in Nigeria” from Crime Reporters Association in Nigeria (CRAN). The Foundation was presented with this award at the annual CRAN Lecture/Award series at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.

For over 23 years, the CLEEN Foundation under several projects have held numerous interventions to aid public safety and security for all. The organization with support from development partners have carried out advocacies and interventions with key stakeholders, conducted research and produced publications in line with the objective of entrenching public safety, security, access to justice, and accountable governance in Nigeria.

CLEEN Foundation has carried out several flagship projects/interventions in the past in the bid to promote public safety and security in Nigeria and beyond. Some of these interventions include the Civil-Military Relations project designed to address concerns on the relationship between the military and the public, the National Crime and Victimization Survey, and many others. The intent of programming for the CLEEN Foundation is to improve citizens’ safety against crime either from state actors or non-state actors. This intent has become the driving force for the foundation in its design and implementation of projects and activities.

The CLEEN Foundation has received several awards including a special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations in New York, the United States of America since June 2020, and Observer Status with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights based in Banjul, The Gambia.
