CLEEN FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD LEADERSHIP

Abuja, Nigeria – 15^th June 2026

CLEEN Foundation, Nigeria’s foremost non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting public safety, security sector accountability, justice reform, and democratic governance, announces a transition in the leadership of its Board of Directors.

The Foundation expresses its profound gratitude to Professor Abubakar Mu’azu, who has concluded his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Directors. During his stewardship, Professor Mu’azu provided exemplary leadership, strategic guidance, and unwavering commitment to the Foundation’s mission of advancing justice, accountability, human rights, and effective governance in Nigeria and across Africa.

Under his leadership, CLEEN Foundation strengthened its institutional capacity, expanded its programmatic reach, deepened partnerships with national and international stakeholders, and continued to serve as a leading voice in promoting citizen-centered security and justice reforms.

Speaking on behalf of the Foundation, the Board and Management commended Professor Mu’azu for his distinguished service and invaluable contributions to the growth and impact of the organization.

As CLEEN Foundation enters a new phase of institutional development, the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jude Ohanele as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Dr. Ohanele brings a wealth of experience in governance, leadership, organizational development, and public service, and is well-positioned to guide the Foundation in advancing its strategic objectives.

The Board also announced the appointment of Mrs. Olufunke Baruwa as the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors. Mrs. Baruwa is a respected development practitioner and advocate with extensive experience in social justice, gender equality, human rights, and institutional strengthening. Her expertise and commitment will further enrich the Foundation’s governance and strategic direction.

Commenting on the appointments, the Executive Director of CLEEN Foundation stated:
