The Crime Prevention Steering Group recently convened its final quarterly meeting at the CLEEN Foundation’s Lagos office, as part of the Brighter Futures Project. This gathering was pivotal in bringing together key stakeholders from various institutions with a shared goal of fostering safety and security across Lagos State and the three Local Government Areas (LGAs). Participants focused on evaluating progress, sharing recent updates, and enhancing collaborative efforts to effectively address crime-related challenges in the region.
During the meeting, discussions were enriched by real-life stories from the field, highlighting the project’s positive impact. One significant aspect was the empowerment of young people who, through sports and counseling, were able to build their confidence and resilience. These activities not only provided them with essential life skills but also offered constructive outlets for their energy and creativity. As a result, these young individuals are better equipped to make positive life choices, steering clear of activities that might lead them into crime.
